you're almost there! Your senior year will be an exciting one that, for
most students, will be focused on making the smooth transition to
college, work, or the military. There's a LOT to do this year (for both parents and students), so take a deep breath and try not to get overwhelmed.

Have You Scheduled Your Senior Portrait?
During the Spring Semester of 2023, the Class of 2024 was sent information needed to register for their Senior Portraits. Students must register for their individual appointment session at one of the Cady Studio locations (the closest being in downtown Acworth). All rising Seniors must have their Senior Portraits taken by November 15 if you want your portrait to be included in the Senior section of the 2023-2024 NPHS yearbook. Appointments book fast, so please schedule your appointment as soon as possible! Students can create an account and schedule their appointment at http://cadystudios.com/.
Have You Paid Your Senior Dues
All seniors must pay Senior Dues. Senior Dues are $85. The senior dues cover the cost of the Graduation Ceremony, the Senior T-Shirt, the Senior Breakfast & the Senior Picnic. They do not cover the cost of the Cap and Gown. To pay senior dues please go to RevTrak. Deadline for paying senior dues is April 1, 2024

All seniors will meet to discuss senior year and senior graduation letters and more on September 6, 2022. Senior Student/Parent Informational Meeting, September 11, 2023 starting at 6:00pm. The counselors will present important information regarding the senior year, such as college applications, transcripts, important dates and more Financial Aid Workshop, September 11, 2023 As part of the senior student/parent night Mr. Ben Meadows, from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be on campus to discuss financial aid for colleges/universities. Mini College Fair, September 11, 2023 Admission Representatives from colleges/universities will be on campus to talk with senior students and their parents |

Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) will be offering virtual meetings for State Aid and FAFSA, the main application used to apply for federal or state-supported financial aid to pay for a college education, with one on one appointments for families who need assistance.

Know Your Deadlines!You are responsible for knowing and meeting all deadlines for college admissions, scholarships, letters of recommendations, etc. When it is necessary for you to have a counselor complete a recommendation letter or other submission, you must provide a request to your counselor TEN DAYS prior to the deadline. If you’re not sure where to find deadline information, please see your counselor. Senior ProfileBefore your counselor or teacher can complete a letter of recommendation for a college application and/or scholarship, you must submit a completed Senior Profile at least ten (10) days prior to the deadline. The Senior Profile provides you with the opportunity to share all of your achievements, awards, and plans for your future beyond high school. College AthleticsYou are responsible for knowing and meeting all deadlines for securing athletic eligibility at the collegiate level. Make sure that you visit our NCAA / NAIA page for more specific information! |
Selective Service Registration - Males 18 - 25“…To furnish manpower to the Defense Department during a national emergency, to manage alternative service for men classified as conscientious objectors, and to register, with only a few exceptions, all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants residing in the United States who are ages 18 through 25...” If you are a male who is 18 years old, you must register with the US Selective Service. To register, click here. If you don't register, not only are you violating the law, but you will be ineligible to receive any federal student loan or grant programs. It's simple to do, so register as soon as you turn 18! |
Register to Vote - Everyone 18 and OlderTo register to vote in the state of Georgia, you must be: - A citizen of the United States; - A legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote; and - At least 17 1/2 years of age (and 18 by election day). Georgia Scholars Recognition Program
Through the Georgia Scholar program, the GA Department of Education identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life. The program is coordinated by the Department’s Excellence Recognition Office and through local coordinators in each public school system and in private schools throughout the state. Each Georgia Scholar receives a seal for his or her diploma. You must meet all 8 criteria in order to apply for this recognition (see "List of Criteria" on the right). For more info, please refer to the forms provided or see your school counselor.

The complete application, with reference letter, must be submitted to your NPHS counselor no later than 5:00 PM on January 25, via email to the GADOE. See your counselor to gain access to the application.

Early Action Deadlines
Many of the competitive colleges and universities offer early action decisions for admissions. You are responsible for meeting these deadlines! If you are interested in applying to an early action program, please see your counselor!
